Whitney C. Houston, Program Manager, Community Health Improvement


Whitney Houston is a Program Manager for Texas Health Resources.  She manages the Hospital System’s community investment for the Dallas/Rockwall counties.  Whitney is a native Texan originally from Austin, TX.  She attended the University of Houston where she obtained a BA in psychology and a master’s in social work.  Whitney began her public health career as a Grant Writer for a nonprofit HIV/AIDS organization in Miami, FL where she grew the annual operating budget from $200,000 to $3.5 million in four years.  Additionally, Whitney has worked at the Texas State Health Department developing FQHCs in Texas and at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston as the Grants Director for Sponsored Projects.  Overall, Whitney has dedicated over 25 years working and volunteering in diverse communities addressing social justice issues related to health disparities, access, and equity.  Whitney is currently completing degree requirements for a MBA from Southern Methodist University.  In her spare time, you can find Whitney browsing at a local independent bookstore, listening to live music or bingeing on a Netflix series. She is a proud resident of Oak Cliff in Dallas where she lives with her 2 children Sarah and Matthias and their beagle pup Luna.
